Laboratory

The geotechnical facilities include a testing lab dedicated to geotechnical teaching and research and a clean room and storage room shared with pavements engineering. The testing lab contains approximately 700 square feet of floor space.

Equipment

Geotechnical equipment at the University of Kansas includes a computer-controlled triaxial testing apparatus with automatic data acquisition capable of performing triaxial, consolidation, and CBR testing. A separate computer-controlled direct shear machine is also available. Two consolidometers and other standard geotechnical equipment are also available for teaching and research.
